Support
Help with your account, your listings, and the people you meet at the curb.
Sellcurb is a neighborhood marketplace in San Diego. Neighbors list household items to sell or give away, claim what others are passing on, and fulfill Asks posted by verified local organizations. If any part of that goes sideways, this page is where to start.
How to get help
Email support@sellcurb.com and tell us what happened. A person on our team reads every message — there is no ticket robot and no phone tree. We are a small team, so we answer as soon as we can rather than promising an hour.
It helps to include the email address on your account, the title of the listing involved, and — if something looked broken — what you tapped just before it did. Screenshots are welcome.
We can help with sign-in trouble, a listing that won't publish, listing credits, a pickup that fell through, a report you filed, and anything about your data.
Report a listing or a Neighbor
You never need our permission to flag something, and reporting is anonymous — the person you report is not told who reported them.
- A listing — open the listing and use Report this listing. Pick a reason (prohibited item, spam or scam, offensive, miscategorized, or something else) and add a note if it helps.
- A Neighbor — open their profile or your conversation with them and use Report this neighbor. In the iPhone app it is in the safety menu at the top of the conversation.
- A single message — use Report on the message itself, so we see exactly what was sent.
- Block — blocking is separate from reporting and is not an accusation. It hides the two of you from each other, and the person you block is not told.
A person on our team reviews every report. We aim to review reports within two days, and appeals from someone whose listing is blocked within a few hours — the same commitment we publish on our prohibited items policy. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first — we cannot dispatch help.
Delete your account
You can delete your account yourself, in the iPhone app or on the web — you never have to ask us to do it, and you never have to install the app to get out.
- iPhone app — Account → Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm.
- Web — sign in and open Settings, scroll to Delete account, then type DELETE to confirm.
Both routes run the same deletion — there is no lesser web version, and nothing is queued for a person to action later. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone. Here is exactly what it does:
- Your listings are withdrawn
- Anything you have up for sale or are giving away is taken down.
- Your conversations are closed
- Open threads close on both sides, so no neighbor is left messaging an account that is gone.
- Listing credits are forfeited
- Credits are tied to your account and can't be transferred or refunded. Any unused credits are lost.
- You can't sign back in
- Your sign-in is removed with the account. This email can no longer reach it.
Your profile details are removed and notifications stop with it. What we keep afterwards, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
How Sellcurb uses AI
AI writes the first draft of a listing from your photo, suggests a price, and can answer routine questions from Neighbors while you are away. You can write a listing yourself instead — the AI is the default because it is faster, never a requirement.
When it answers a Neighbor on your behalf, the message carries this line, every time:
This message was drafted by Sellcurb's AI assistant on behalf of the lister. Reply normally — your message will be read.
Two things AI does not get the last word on. Every new listing is screened automatically before it publishes, and if that screen blocks yours you can appeal to a person — the review targets are on our prohibited items policy. And every report a Neighbor files is read by a person on our team, not closed by a model.
Common questions
The same answers the homepage gives — one source, so they can't disagree.
- How is this different from the big marketplace apps?
- Sellcurb is a real marketplace with payment, in-app messaging, and ratings — not a free-for-all message board. You'll never get a "is this still available?" message at 2am, and you coordinate pickup entirely in-app, no phone numbers exchanged.
- Why $4 per listing?
- It covers the AI work (writing your listing, pricing it, screening neighbors ready to pick up) and keeps the platform spam-free. Most marketplaces are "free" but take 10–13% of your sale — on a $200 couch that's $20–26 they keep. We charge $4 flat and you keep everything.
- Is this only in the San Diego area?
- At launch, yes — San Diego (downtown, North Park, La Jolla, and surrounding neighborhoods). We'll expand once we have density. Drop your zip when you join and we'll let you know the moment we're active near you.
- What if I don't want to use the AI?
- You don't have to. You can write your own listing manually. The AI is the default because it produces better-converting posts in 60 seconds, but it's never required.
Your data and your privacy
To request access to your data, a correction, or an export, email support@sellcurb.com. For questions about the policy itself, write to privacy@sellcurb.com. The full detail — what we collect, who processes it, and how long we keep it — is in the Privacy Policy.
We never publish your email address to another Neighbor, and we do not collect phone numbers — coordination happens inside Sellcurb.
Reach a human
One address, read by people: support@sellcurb.com. It is the same address the Privacy Policy gives for data requests.
We don't run a support phone line. Everything reaches us by email or through a report in the app, and we reply from a person.
Sellcurb is operated by Sellcurb LLC, San Diego, California.
